SERVICES
Borland Creek Logging provides forestry services that include full phase forest management and development, forest enhancement, urban interface work, brushing, clearing groupings, pilling, salvage harvesting and road development. BCL has generally harvested 125,000 - 150,000 m3 of timber annually and currently operates within many different forest licenses and also assists with WLFN community forest license. Current contract opportunities are held with Tolko and West Fraser.
Forestry
Biomass recovery is a service offered by Borland Creek Logging that utilizes forestry debris to create power or wood products through our partnership with Atlantic Power and Pinnacle Pellet. BCL has secured funding through the Forest Enhancement Society of BC (FESBC) to assist in the Biomass recovery program.
Biomass Recovery
The mining division of Borland Creek Logging involves work with clients such as Mount Polley Mine, Gibraltar Mine, as well as Spanish Mountain Mine. Borland Creek Logging. provides services such as "grubbing and clearing" work for mine expansion and road development. Additionally employees have been supplied for core sampling work.
Mining
Borland Creek Logging has previously completed "grubbing and clearing" work as well as road construction work for pipeline and energy projects. Previous clients include Embridge, Fortis, and BC Hydro.
In the past 12 years Borland Creek Logging has been involved in urban interface work which separates and protects provincial and federal land from potential fires risks. BCL also has a Community Burn Plan in place and is in the process of implementing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). Additionally BCL employs a fire protection crew that is fully equipped and trained.

ABOUT
Borland Creek Logging Ltd. (BCL) is 100% owned and operated by Williams Lake First Nation in Williams Lake, BC.

There are several divisions of BCL including: forestry operations, biomass recovery projects, fuel management and fire suppression, mining and energy projects. Forestry projects are directed by manager Pat Ferguson, managed by a Board of Directors, as appointed by the shareholders.

Established in 1994, the company conducts a “full” phase conventional harvesting operation. BCL is capable of working on a “stump to dump” basis as required. The company started out as a small logging contractor and has grown significantly in size; capable of harvesting over 150,000 cubic meters per year.

BCL is registered with Work Safe BC and has been Safe Certified under the BC Forest Safety Council.
​
The Company is dedicated to employing WLFN members who are qualified before offering positions to others, and currently employs many members as machine operators to labourers in the silviculture and lands positions.
